Our aim

Our primary aim is to promote compliance with fisheries management law and policy. If necessary we will take steps to insist on compliance so that all stakeholders can have confidence in the management of marine resources.

About FAS

FAS is independently owned and operated, is based in Nelson, New Zealand and the company owners are involved full time in the company with all contracts being managed by one or other of the owners.

Our observers are employed on a contract basis, are multi-skilled and interested in issues relating to the use of the natural environment and ways of promoting responsible and well informed fishing practices. They have experience in a variety of aspects of fisheries operations and therefore able to focus on a range of fisheries, environment, auditing and compliance issues in the at sea or catch sector.
